On 4 December 2025, Leonardo Piccinetti, Head of the Innovation Lab at REDINN, delivered a specialised Masterclass on Research Management and Career Development at the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome.
The session formed part of the PATHFOOD capacity-building programme, supporting young researchers and early-career professionals in developing advanced competencies in EU project design and research management.

Professionalisation pathways for research managers in Europe
Key skills for project coordination and leadership
Horizon Europe proposal development using the Excellence–Impact–Implementation (EII) model
Tools for stakeholder engagement, communication, and exploitation
How to build a personal 3-month career roadmap
The masterclass attracted PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and junior research managers from various institutions, offering them practical insights and hands-on guidance for developing effective research support profiles within academia and industry.
Leonardo’s contribution underscores REDINN’s commitment to strengthening research management capacity across Europe and supporting the next generation of research leaders.
